The Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Payroll Officer/Admin Support to join our Finance team based in Frankton, Hamilton. Reporting to the CFO, this role is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of payroll for Greenlea and associated entities, while also providing administration support to the Hamilton office as required.

This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in accuracy and confidentiality, and values building positive working relationships across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

This role plays an important part in supporting the day-to-day payroll and administration functions of the business, and responsibilities will include:

  • Processing end-to-end payroll accurately and on time.
  • Reviewing and collating timesheets, ensuring compliance with payroll deadlines and employment regulations.
  • Maintaining employee payroll records, leave balances, and staff file updates.
  • Preparing payroll reports including payroll summaries, audit reporting, IRD reporting, and leave liability reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with New Zealand payroll legislation including PAYE, ACC, KiwiSaver, and Holidays Act requirements.
  • Supporting administration of the ACC Self Insurance programme and maintaining accurate related records.
  • Responding to payroll and administration queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Providing reception cover including answering phones, greeting visitors, and directing enquiries.
  • Coordinating shared administration email accounts and supporting general office administration tasks.
  • Assisting with finance administration duties including invoice processing, stock payments, and sundry sales invoicing.
  • Contributing to the smooth and effective operation of the Hamilton office through additional administration support as required.

Key Requirements:

The successful candidate will have proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing and a strong understanding of New Zealand payroll legislation, including PAYE, KiwiSaver, ACC and Holidays Act requirements. They will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality, along with strong administration, communication and customer service skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with payroll systems such as PayGlobal will be highly regarded. A positive, team-focused attitude and the ability to manage competing priorities in a professional manner are essential.
